New York vs. the NRA: It's not about gun policies

Today's lawsuit by NY AG Letitia James against the NRA is not about the gun policies of the NRA ,but rather is about whether the contributions of NRA members have been legally spent.

It is illegal for officers of charities to use member donations for personal reasons or to make side arrangements with vendors for personal reasons.  All charitable officers also have a fiduciary duty to their members for honest and transparent audits and transactions.  

Every state attorney general has the responsibility to be sure that charities chartered in their own state use tax deductible donations in a manner that furthers the goals of that organization and for no other reason.
